La chenille vit dans le tronc des Saules en avril et mai après y avoir hiverné. L'adulte, remarquable par ses ailes en grande partie hyalines, vole en mai et août.
Vous pourrez voir cette espèce dans les "Marais de Larchant".

After having hibernated inside Sallow tree trunks, the caterpillar stays there through April and May. The adult is quite remarkable as is obvious from its name: its red-tipped wings are so clear that they appear diaphanous. The adult flies in May and August.
This species is visible in the marshes of Larchant.
